Hello all. I'm a taking Dr. Lalita Calabria's Fungal Kingdom class at Evergreen. I found this lichen on the ground on campus, and we keyed it out to Hypotrachyna revoluta. However, it tested C- when the guides Lalita and I were using said it should test positive. It would be awesome to get some second opinions on the ID!
Size of thallus piece found: 5.5 cm
Found on a trail by 2712 Lewis Rd NW, Olympia, WA 98505
Overstory included Acer macrophyllum and Pseudotsuga menziesii ; may be irrelevant due to unknown growing location.
Substrate unclear, though I think the stick it is attached to is from a softwood tree.
