I agree, it would be good to do this sometime. We actually tried this a couple of decades ago when the meeting was in Bellingham. It went ok, but we didn't really have enough time. With everyone sharing tanks and one fume hood it is challenging to pull it off in half a day.
More recently we had a full-day event for this at OSU and that worked out ok. That was separate from any meeting. As I recall we were able to complete several pairs of plates from start to finish, including interpretation.
There is a fair amount of setup required -- chemicals, tanks, fume hood.
