Before Adam met Eve
lichens had it all arranged.
Algae, meet Fungus.
Together we can save the world.
Before birds grew wings,
Lichens stayed aloft,
nested in bark cradles,
embraced big rocks,
wind lullaby caressed.
Before fairies sprinkled dust
lichens evolved a better way.
Waved their wands
scattering spores --
the magic spell of more.
Before caged Sybil
ranted ancient life's end,
lichens silently mourned
the end of rain,
the death of trees.
