The Grupo Latinoamericano de Liquenólogos (GLAL) has just launched a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/latin-lichenologists-at-ial9

Our goal is to raise sufficient funds for scholarships that will allow lichenologists from Latin America attend the 9th Symposium of the International Association for Lichenology (IAL9) in Bonito, Brazil, August 2-7, 2020.

This is the first time that this big international meeting of lichenologists from all over the world takes place on the Latin American continent.

We believe you understand how dire the economic situation in many Latin American countries currently is. Your contribution is a unique chance to support students and professionals, who otherwise might be unable to attend.

We would much appreciate any support of this campaign.
