    Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can lead me to a genera for this crustose lichen I found in Tehama County, California. It's on moss and rock at 400 feet elevation. The medulla is K- C- KC+fleeting red P- I+B. Spores are muriform, dark and 23-28.16x12.8µ.

Pictures in the photo gallery labeled California lichen.

    Thanks,

    Steve

This is a Diploschistes species. I'd suggest the Sonoran flora to figure out which one.

My first though was Diploschistes when I collected it. I did all my spot tests again, this time with fresh C and got a C+R reaction. the Biotic Soil Crust book is the only book or online information to talk about the KC+R reaction. So it must be D. muscorum.
