Hello fellow lichen lovers - are you interested in hosting a fellow lichenologist overnight?

I work at the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I'm planning to attend the NWSA/NW Lichenologists meeting in Bend, Oregon in March.

I'm planning to drive from Edmonton, Alberta to Bend, then to Portland to visit the OSU herbarium and back to Alberta through BC. I have accommodation in Bend and for my stints through Canada, but I'm looking for a friendly place to lay my head on the following dates:

March 22 - Northern Idaho or Washington, e.g., Coeur d'Alene or Spokane area

March 26, 27, 28 - Corvallis area or within a couple of hours drive of Corvallis -  I'll be at the OSU herbarium all day Monday the 28th so I have 1.5 days to spend collecting on the way to Corvallis or near the coast (whoops, not sure why I had Portland on the brain).

I'll feed myself so no worries on that front. I'm hoping to stretch my limited travel funds a little further, and meet some fellow lichenologists along the way.  I'll also have camping supplies or can sleep in the van so if you have an area to park, that works as well.

Thanks!  If you're interested you can contact me directly at (780) 721-7831, diane.haughland@gov.ab.ca, and you can see my profile to ensure I"m not an axe-murderer at http://www.royalalbertamuseum.ca/research/lifeSciences/invertebrateZoology/who.cfm

    Cheers,

    Diane Haughland
