    Hi all,

Sense we are looking at Cladonia, how about this one. In the photo gallery it's #1175. It came from the crest of the Cascades, off the Old McKenzie HWY, about 5035 feet elevation, on soil over basalt. The podetia are cupped and non-cupped with squamules up the non cupped podetia. The squamules are: cortex K+Y, medulla K+Y KC- C- P+dark yellow to orange, UV-. Podetia are +/- 4mm tall. Apothecia are brown, no soredia are present.

    Any ideas?

Looks like C. macrophyllodes -- big squamules and usually dumpy, sparse podetia.

    C. macrophyllodes is what I though by the keys, but the book says that the medulla is K-, P+R.

My sample is K+Y, P+ dark yellow to maybe orange.
