I was wondering about this Endocarpon (two photos). I am not sure E. loscosii occurs in MT, or if the spores are irregular enough to be it, but the whitish hue made me wonder. Otherwise, does it look like E. pusillum? Thanks.

This could be E. loscosii, and the fact that it hasn't been reported for Montana doesn't really mean that much. On the other hand, the distinctions between E. loscosii and similar species can be challenging. The Endocarpon squamules do look rather white edged, which doesn't clinch it, but is suggestive.
