What app do you use to help identify Northwest lichen?  Is iNaturalist any good at identifying lichen?

I like iNaturalist, it's pretty good with common macrolichens, at least to genus. I also like using it to see what lichens are in a given area, to get a better idea of what is common.

That said, I'm curious to know what more experienced licheners think of it.

I also use iNat to get to genus a lot of the time. Once you know the main genera (Cladonia, Usnea, Bryoria... etc.) it becomes a lot easier to remember! I also like looking through the Lichens of North America book and Mr. Bruce and Ms. Linda's Macrolichens of the Pacific Northwest... the pictures are really pretty :)
