Lichen Posters

    Hi everyone!

I'm going to be working on making species posters for different lichen genera to show how different each species within the genera is unique/similar to each other and to show off how cute they are. Eventually, the paintings would be used to make merch for the NWL for online and events. The posters would be styled to look like old scientific illustrations with detailed labels of different lichen anatomy and other ecology facts. I'm hoping this can bring more people to the NWL and to educate more on lichen in general.

If you have favorite Cladonia, Bryoria, Hypogymnia, Pseudocyphellaria, Lobaria, or other genera, and some of your favorite species within those genera that you think should be shown off, I would love to put them on the poster!

P.S. I have also attached a picture of how the posters would be styled. This is of different species in the Monstera plant genus.

Wow, great idea, but what a challenge! The Monstera example really sets a high bar. It would be good to start with a relatively easy, common, conspicuous genus without a lot of local species, so not something like Usnea or Peltigera or Cladonia. Maybe Nephroma or Lobaria?
