I posted in the Photos section some contributions by Ann DeBolt of Andrea Pipp and her lichen cupcake creations. This was from back in 2006 at the NWL event at Milton Ranch in eastern Montana. For more information on that trip, see Andrea's writeup in Kelseya.

Love those cupcakes Andrea.  Just posted a photo of our Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute Tech appreciation. The lead taxonomists for the aquatic invertebrates, bryophytes and lichens teams decorate cupcakes for our technicians - we try to be biologically accurate but alas, not all of us are artists. See if you can pick out the Vulpicida pinastri, Parmelia sulcata, Cladonia borealis, C. botrytes, Peltigera cf. aphthosa...

Fun! Now lichen cupcakes are officially a thing.

Btw, I noticed that I had a typo in the date for the Milton Ranch event. Maybe 2016, not 2006.
