    Hi all,

I found  an orangeish lichen on moss over tufa in Lake County, Oregon near Lake Abert. It is K+R and very pruinose. It is fruticose in nature with orange pycnidia that under LM are round with roundish very light gray cells. No pycnospores are visable. The lower tips have gray green soredia also minute white cilia like structures. The lower side is white. Pictures of this critter are in the photo gallery labeled Abert lichen.

    Thanks for any help!!

You got me! I don't think it is Xanthomendoza. Looks more like a crustose lichen using the moss for structure. (just a guess). Could it be a strange Aspicilia?
