I very much enjoyed your podcast Bruce. I found it quit informative.

BUT I am not able to find the insider lichen cartoons on your website, Bruce! Could you share that info with us? I loved the description of the Hypogymnia inactiva cartoon! Perhaps this could be linked to the NWL website?

Well, he really stumped me on the lichen joke question. There's a good challenge for you: come up with lichen jokes that can be appreciated by nonlichenologists (btw, I couldn't bear to bring up the overused "I'm lichen it" or "Freddy fungus...")

The cartoons are in the "Lichen Humor" section of my website: http://bmccune.weebly.com/lichen-humor.html

It's already linked to the NWL website in the sense that my website is linked from NWL.

By the way, the link previously posted is generic, I think, so that it will go to the current show. I think the following will be a stable link:

Just listened, such a great interview!

I also then had to look at all the lichen humor on your site Bruce. My favorite is the Hypogymnia inactiva cartoon!

I was wondering in light of the new fungal partner suspected to be in most (all?) parmelioids, how or if that changes how lichens are defined? Will this shift how we think of lichen taxonomy?
