Posting photos of 2 specimens which look very similar (chalky etc.) Calling Wrangell specimen Rhizocarpon umbilicatum, and thinking Olympic specimen R. petraeum, although macroscopically more closely resembles on-line photos of R. umbilicatum. (CNALH maps show specimens of R. umbilicatum from just west of Wrangell Mts, AK, and another in northern Canadian Rockies, with none further south, the maps show closest R. petraeum specimen in Montana.)

    1. Wrangell Mts, AK, on Ca rich rock; medulla K+yellow; apothecium: crystals, some soluble in KOH; hymenium 120u; hypothecium 175u; paraphases anastomosed, approx 2u diameter with thickened apical cell; spores 8/ascus, average 26×14u, muriform, average 12 cells, only becoming brown when shriveled. Photos of this one - Mushroom Observer: Observation: Rhizocarpon umbilicatum (Ramond) Flagey (108610)

    2. Olympic Mts, WA, on Si rock; thallus K neg; apothecium: crystals all soluble in KOH; hymenium 160u; paraphyses anastomosed; apical cell 3u; spores 8/ascus, average 38 x 20u, muriform, average 18 cells; don’t see any brown spores. Photos posted in gallery.

I think your names for these are as reasonable, but I have very limited experience with them.
